Report by Sean Lee

The Rovers played the last game of the season at the home of the Division 4 Champions Coxheath Colts, the Rovers were looking for two wins to put them in a good chance of snatching 2nd place.

The team had a set back straight away with Ronan POWELL pulling up with a leg injury during the warm up so Harry YOUNG stepped up to the mark and between the sticks.

The first game started but the Rovers didn't, with Coxheath playing the much better football they were very unlucky not to open the scoring with several efforts rattling the Rovers wood work, but hey you need some luck sometime along the way. The team for the day was lead by Aaron MILLER following his first goal of the season last week he had behind him Josh MULLINS, Patrick LEE and Jonathan LEE with Henry TUTT and Matthew Constable at the back. Despite not playing well the home keeper still had to make some very smart saves to keep his team in the game as did Harry YOUNG. Despite some changes with George Angel taking over the centre of Midfield and Bradley MARSH leading the line the Rovers could not snatch that much needed win, 0-0 it stayed.

The second game saw the Rovers much more up for the game with telling pressure leading to Bradley MARSH finishing well after goodwork down the left from Josh MULLINS 1-0 to the Rovers . The second half saw the re-introduction of the LEE brothers. The home team started to wilt under the relentless pressure from the Rovers team and finally fell to one of the best finishes seen this season. Jonathan LEE took on and swept past the home left back then with a cross on the run at pace he skimmed the ball through towards Bradley MARSH who without breaking his step volleyed the ball past the Colts keeper 2-0. The Rovers were not finished yet with pressure telling, the Rovers finished off the season with another Patrick Thunder Bolt from just outside the box he lined up the goal and almost burst the net, it did take a slight glancing blow off a defender but would have beaten the keeper anyway, 3-0 to the Rovers and that's how it stayed despite more good work which should have lead to more goals, but you have to be happy beating the newly Crowned Champions at home so well.

The Rovers will now have to wait till the results of next weeks game between Aylesford and Maidstone Kestrels to know if they are to gain the 2nd place.

The man of the Match for this game was Bradley MARSH for his two good finishes and all round play.

Again a big thanks goes to the travelling support who turned out in again to support the team, for this match and all the others through the season. It certainly makes the everything easier knowing how supportive the parents are of the team.

A massive thanks for the team for playing so well and acheiving what they have this season whatever the end result. They are a credit to themselves and the club in the way that they have played and sportmanship they have shown.
