MAIDSTONE RAIDER'S FOOTBALL DIARY

We are pleased to announce that South Park Rangers FC, an FA Charter Standard Adult Club, an FA Ability Counts Football Club and the only FA Charter Standard Community Club in Maidstone are continuing with their work in the local community.

On Wednesday 11 October 2006, pupils at Five Acre Wood School, Boughton Lane, Maidstone were able to benefit from the second of their football development days, which have been delivered by expert coaches from Maidstone Raiders FC. This organisation is part of South Park Rangers FC who are in partnership with Maidstone United. They have an extremely high profile and reputation in terms of the nationwide development of disability football, as exemplified in the fact that they have hosted the recent 'Champions World Cup' and 'Kent Youth Games' football events.

Three tailor made sessions were held throughout the day, targeting the lower school, the upper school and the EEU students respectively. Not only did the sessions cater excellently for all, irrespective of their age, gender or level of ability, but everyone involved thoroughly enjoyed the experience and undoubtedly learnt a substantial amount.

On behalf of everyone that took part, Tim Williams, Assistant Headteacher of Five Acre Wood School said "Everybody at the school would like to offer our sincere thanks to John Harvey and Mike Littleboy, not only for their exceptional efforts, but also their infectious energy, enthusiasm and commitment. As an event, it had a significant impact upon the school. We look forward to building upon this partnership in the future, to the benefit of all concerned".

Mike Littleboy, Chairman of SPR said "The day was a tremendous success and very rewarding. John and I thoroughly enjoyed the day and are looking forward to the next session in early December 2006. We have also been able to recruit more players to our Maidstone Raiders FC team to enjoy football outside of the school environment. This is an added benefit as all we wanted to do, was to provide football for all with lots of fun attached".
